And in the recent interview, he said that he wanted Grogu's time with Luke to track real-world time, which means about 2 years from Mando 2.8 to BOBF finale. If he had something else to say, I missed it.

All the recent episodes have been fine but they feel like a step backwards after the season 2 finale. Instead of getting Din teaming up with Bo and using the Darksaber, we’ve kind of gone backwards a bit to wasting a few episodes on Din rejoining his original group and putting his helmet back on.
