Take a new razor blade and carefully separate the fiber drag washer from the spool. Using a heat source (heat gun) warm up the inner diameter of the spool where it meets the shaft. WebI still use the Diawa pre Silvercast models and the Silvercast reels. They are all over 30 years old and still going strong. I also use vintage Zebco 808 and 202 models.
