All races will cross the famous train trestle 2 times. This old train trestle is Michigan oldest and longest non- motorized bridge which 60 ft above Mill Creek. Trail is all a very fine packed small gravel. WebThe high trestle trail can be ridden from Ankeny, Iowa all the way to Woodward but the best segment is from Madrid to Woodward. This is a 6 mile section with the high trestle bridge over the Des Moines river at the 3 mile mark. The entire trail is concrete and this section is through woods and away from highways.
