It appeared as if MS DPM 2012 SP1 which was backing up the server did not clear down bitmap images of the volume it was snapshotting. I could not remove these files nor should you try to evidently. It goes up consistently throughout the day. We have SQL Server on the server plus a few other apps like an AV program and an IIS server. I disabled the SQL Server Agents to isolate out that possibility.
WebOct 2, 2011 · I have the exact same problem. When I check in the resource manager it reports that it's writing to "C:\System Volume Information\{GUID#1}{GUID#2}". It's writing about 100 MB/min and it has been at it for about 10 min now. It really slows the system down. I'm downloading SP1 right now, hopefully that will help.
