The transmitter does have pretty good range if you need to mosey over to your neighbors house while he's smelling your delicious bbq to rub it in a little more by showing him that you don't even have to watch your pit. I found a vendor online called Humphreys BBQ and took a $34 chance on a solution. It worked perfectly. Simply attach this machined aluminum adapter to your billows, and plug your billows into the KK BBQ Guru port. So long as you have enough lit, the fan is able to easily increase/decrease oxygen to make small adjustments in temp within a fairly narrow band. Needing to clear the freezer of a 19 pound package of pork butt (which was taking up a lot of space) and having house guests to help eat it, I decided to try an overnight cook using the controller / fan to check it out. When I returned home it was recognizing the charger. I hooked it up to the fan and it started working. Very frustrating. This actually reminds me to check it again and see how it works.
